Thanks to its vegetation, Poo Beach is also integrated in the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Coast of Asturias. It stands out for being “one of the most picturesque beaches in Spain” in the famous National Geographic magazine, awarding it for its low human presence that makes it a pure environment, clean waters and unusual formations.
It has a length of 150 meters and is formed by fine-grained golden sand and clear waters. Its physiognomy is changing according to the tides and its orientation to the sun, the cliffs that surround it make the shape of a funnel, and during low tide you can not see the sea on the horizon, but during high tide the sea enters through the channel creating a natural saltwater pool, perfect for bathing children.
In it we will find services such as showers, litter garbage cans, rescue service, cleaning service, rescue and rescue team, restaurants and parking. In front of the cliffs you can see the castro de Poo, which resembles the remains of a ship that had been shipwrecked. It is accessible by car, bus and the town of Poo has a railroad station.
