The coast of Alicante is located to the east of the Iberian Peninsula, however, the beaches of Benidorm are oriented towards the south, providing better temperatures and more hours of sunshine during most of the year.The two main beaches of Benidorm are Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente, which are joined by the Club Nautico de Benidorm and the famous Balcón del Mediterráneo (emblematic viewpoint from where you can see the bay, the skyline of Benidorm and the horizon of the sea). The names of the beaches are due to the place where the sun rises and sets, respectively.
