Can Comes Beach is a huge beach almost 4 km long and somewhat peculiar, as it is located almost entirely within the Natural Park of Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, bounded between the mouth of 2 rivers, the river Muga and the river Fluvià. Composed of fine golden sand, which highlights its dune system and lagoons that preside over this natural paradise, where we can find a multitude of vegetation and animal species. This beach has an important nudist tradition, so it should not be strange to see people on it in a natural way. Here you can also practice various sports such as surfing, kite flying and even take a long walk and enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna that you will find around it.
Being located within a natural park, despite its extensive sandy area, it does not have any type of service and it is for this reason as well as for its difficult access, which always keeps this beach with a low occupancy of visitors. Since this beach cannot be accessed directly, we have 3 different alternatives to enjoy it:
- Through its neighboring beach of Empuriabrava and cross on foot the mouth of the river Muga, they have enabled a strip of sand that connects both beaches but we will surely end up getting wet feet and even knees.
- Through the Camping Laguna, this campsite is located across the mouth of the river Muga so it would be the most interesting option for direct access to the beach, the only thing we should stay there.
- Through the Natural Park, by a dirt road (Camí de Voramar) which we do not recommend because it is usually muddy and impracticable and surely we can find the security or guards of the park itself and put us some trouble, but it would be the most effective way to get to the center of this extensive beach.
