If you don’t want to stay in a hotel in the town of Altata, you can also find lodging near Navolato. It is about an hour’s drive from either city, depending on traffic.

The Navolato area is not as developed as other areas along this coast and most people visit because of its proximity to other destinations such as San Ignacio Lagoon or Cerro de la Estrella National Park (a popular hiking destination).
